Holidays

My favorite holiday is the New Year's Eve. The New Year's Eve is called "Oomisoka" in Japan.  It's seasonal holiday that takes place on December 31. Have you ever heard of  "tosikosi-soba"? We usually eat buckwheat noodles on the New Year's Eve and hope for a long happy life. You have to finish eating buckwheat noodles before New Year comes. In addition, We prepare for New Year’s Day by cleaning our homes. Many people get together at countdown event at that night. However I usually stay at home and watch television programs with my family. The airports and train stations are mobbed with people that go back to their hometown.  People spend time their families or friends at that day.

  3. I remember those traditions...I've also heard that if you dream about 3 things on New Year's eve (Mt. Fuji, a hawk, and an eggplant), you'll have good luck the following year.
